2 one-woman satirical stand-up cabarets, about women’s status in Jewish law. The shows aroused the wrath of many religious forums, who banned it. Despite this, the audience poured in (including men and women from religious and ultra-orthodox sectors). The shows ran in both Hebrew and English in Israel and abroad- and their home stage was at the Israeli Cameri theatre, Tel-Aviv.
Stand- Up & Performance
Hadar first became known as a stand-up comedian, with a show she created and performed together with Noya Mandel (Bidur Kahalacha). It was the first time in Israel’s history that two orthodox women performed on a professional stage and dared to laugh at the orthodox world they belonged to.
But for Hadar it wasn’t enough- she wanted to get deeper and touch taboos concerning women’s status in Jewish Law.
In 2001 Hadar created a one-woman satirical stand-up comedy about women’s status in Jewish law (Pulsa). Sharp, witty and highly critical of Jewish orthodoxy, the show aroused the wrath of many religious forums, that banned it and forbade their communities to see it.
This, turned out to be great publicity for the show -the audience poured in (including men and women from religious
and ultra-orthodox sectors). Pulsa was on stage until 2011
(almost 10 years) with close to 600 performances around the country, abroad and based at the Israeli Cameri theatre.
A stand-up cabaret on women’s power and weakness from GENESIS until today . In Passion Killer Hadar intertwines her personal life experiences, whilst retelling stories from the bible and midrash with a funny, modern and inspiring perspective…
