Hadar Galron’s humorous, poignantly beautiful story takes place in a women’s bath, a mikveh. The mikveh is a ritual bath where women take a dip once a month to purify themselves and reconnect with their husbands. The characters of the drama are women of different ages, who are bound by religious rules, and in various social and family roles in a male-dominated world, they fight for their acceptance, freedom, and rights, and even rebel if necessary. The contemporary Israeli playwright Hadar Galron wrote the Mikveh in 2004, which has since been presented in many parts of the world. The premiere in Hungary was directed by Michal Dočekal, director of the National Theater in Prague.
